Examination

At NBP Public School, we believe that examinations are a vital part of holistic education. They do more than test memory—they cultivate discipline, critical thinking, and self-awareness. Our entire evaluation process is conducted as per the official guidelines of the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) and the Department of Basic Education, Government of Uttar Pradesh.

We complement this state-aligned structure with modern, student-friendly assessment techniques inspired by the CBSE and NCERT models.

Academic and Examination Timing

NBP Public School follows a rural-area school schedule, operating from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. All internal and external examinations are planned within these school hours unless specified otherwise by the UP Board or education authorities.

Board examinations and official assessments are held according to the official UPMSP time slots and district-level notifications.

Internal Examination Structure

To ensure regular academic tracking, students from all classes participate in multiple rounds of internal assessments throughout the year. These include:

1. Unit Tests / Periodic Assessments

  • Conducted at regular intervals after each unit

  • Short-format tests that assess understanding and retention

  • 4–5 per subject annually

2. Half-Yearly Examination

  • Held in September or October

  • Covers approximately 50% of the annual syllabus

  • Prepares students for structured, long-form exams

3. Annual Examination

  • Conducted in February–March

  • Final examination of the academic year, covering the full syllabus

  • Follows UP Board structure and includes theory and practical components

Board Examination Support (Classes 10 & 12)

While we do not explicitly advertise admissions into Class 10 or 12, our school offers academic continuity and structured preparation for students as they advance through higher grades. For students appearing in board-level examinations:

  • Pre-Board Examinations simulate real board testing conditions

  • Mock test papers, past-year questions, and structured revisions are provided

  • Guidance is given for form filling, subject registration, and UP Board protocols

These exams are conducted under the regulations of UPMSP and the supervision of external observers where applicable.

Supplementary Evaluation Methods

In addition to written exams, the school also conducts:

  • Oral Tests and Viva – Especially in languages and science subjects

  • Practical Exams – For Computer, Science, and skill-based subjects

  • Project Work & Portfolios – Introduced in upper primary and secondary classes

  • Classwork & Notebook Evaluation – Counted as part of the term assessment

Promotion and Grading

Student promotion is based on cumulative performance in:

  • Unit Tests

  • Half-Yearly and Annual Examinations

  • Attendance, behavior, and classroom engagement

  • Completion of assignments, practicals, and projects

Minimum passing marks and promotion criteria follow UPMSP rules and state government norms.

Exam Ethics and Environment

At NBP Public School, we uphold the highest standards of discipline, honesty, and fair conduct during examinations. Students are encouraged to view tests as tools for self-improvement, not pressure.

Teachers act as mentors before and after exams—offering personalized feedback, remedial classes, and motivation sessions when needed.

Parent Communication

We ensure full transparency by:

  • Sharing results after each exam cycle

  • Organizing Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to discuss performance

  • Providing guidance for at-home support and exam readiness
